With all the investment (Vattenfall etc) in the offshore wind farms. Why not make Gt Yarmouth a showcase for renewable energy. Not only could it be powered 100% by renewables – predominantly wind, but it could also become a hub/education centre for turning towns green. Could it not be directly linked through the powerstation to the wind farms and then shut off electricity from brown energy, thereby making it carbon neutral. Further to this, make the port a hub for education and showcasing ways of maintaining the wind farms through renewable energies. Eco tourism is becoming ever more popular. With the support of the wind farm sector backing this initiative they would gain ever more important marketing. In turn, this could lead to tourist trips to the wind farms, floating centres/restaurants etc. Promoting the ever growing wildlife in this area which would only increase through less brown energy use……….
