From parking to general leisure, our town is lacking affordable options for local families to spend their time. Many issues in our town stem from the lack of leisure options for children and adolescents, especially in lower income families.
Out of boredom, social isolation and/or mental health issues these young people find themselves involved in gangs, drug dealing/using and other antisocial behaviours. Whilst there are other factors that come into play, I strongly believe that by introducing more open spaces for sports, more affordable youth groups, and more community group projects aimed at young people.
This will help promote primary and secondary socialisation from a young age and will likely improve all aspects of their lives from education to family relationships.
By targeting the next generation we can promote a better community in the bay for years to come and encourage people to spend more time in town bring in business and tourism.
