Could we please allocate some funds to go towards to saving, renovation and revitalising of our heritage assett.Calderdale Council due to cuts in funding have not be able to keep up with the maintenance of our Bandstand that was built in 1914 by local builders. We are passionate about Saving our much loved centre piece of our beautiful park. It will not only benefit the whole Community but bring in much needed revenue to the town. When repaired, it can be used not only for a musical venue but also for plays, cinema, demonstration, weddings and much more . Our schools and the scout group have already pledge to use it. Our aim is not only bring the Bandstand back to its former glory but to creative a truly valuable community space.

  1. Refurbish the bandstand we’ve got and give a grant to start up regular concerts by a variety of performers from April through to September.
Also some form of weather shelter (permanent or stored on site for erection when events experience inclement weather) so that audiences can enjoy all planned events. There are towns with outdoor performance areas which have invested in revitalising them very successfully, Todmorden can do this too.
Revitalise the park generally – improve the toilets, rebuild the cabin that sold drinks and sweets, get the tennis courts and crazy golf back into use and bring the animals back for us all to visit

  2. I’m not in support of a refurbishment of the bandstand though I think we need one. I would like to see a modern, all weather bandstand that looks forward, not behind.

  3. This would be a very good use for some of the money. It would only use up a small fraction of the total but would benefit a huge number of people. It would be very good for public morale in an area where morale is low because of regular flooding.
