Few people I know visit the town centre. They say there’s nothing to go there for! I visit occasionally for a good independent shoe repairs business in Havalock Street and dry cleaning. There is no public transport from my home to the town centre, many shops are closed and the place feels unwelcoming. It’s as if the dementors have moved in.
The town is expanding fast but it’s infrastructure hasn’t kept up. Cultural facilities are insufficient, good restaurants are non existent and broadband where I live is poor.
When Honda closes many will lose their jobs and income putting even more pressure on the town and its resources.
