Every single local resident is likely to agree that we do not want concentrated housing on the Bathing Pool site. It is a prime spot that should be used for recreation and tourism, thus improving the area and creating a thriving hub for West St Leonards – not simply for developers to make money and housing quotas to be fulfilled.
I propose an environmentally considerate mix of independent retail outlets, water sports and beach facilities, artist studios and workshops bringing skills to the area and an inspiring park for all the community with trees and green space, community gardens, seating and performance spaces and interactive multi sensory play areas for all ages. Affordable housing and co-housing projects should be included within the housing plans that will likely remain necessary, making sure a wide range of society is catered for.
