The town is rife with tired, graffiti covered, grey/brown concrete underpases and tired/lazy bridges.
These are the finishing touches that can make or break the feel of a town – in our case it breaks/defines Stevenage.
No murals either – they always seem like a nice idea but they are usually an eyesore – thank God the space themed artistry of the underpass in the old twon was finally painted over. Who’s idea was that!
Let’s really invest in this important part of our infrastructure. Better lighting, painted (graffiti safe?) walls, plants, greenery and maybe some new footbridges – but something with a bit of imagination and that is pleasing to the eye – not the lazy, predictable steel monstrosities that we would normally pick.
