Bring in cruise ships

Even the largest cruise ships can anchor in the bay and run tender boats ashore. The Yorkshire coast has dozens of attractions a short bus ride away, even as far as York is normal for ships’ tours. The extra tourist numbers will boost the sand side economy as well as the wider region. Many cruise lines currently have a day at sea between Southampton and Scotland. Why no stop at Scarborough?

  1. I think this idea might be very good for Scarborough because it increase it popularity of this town and will increase the tourism that will happen in later year if it have a port here

  2. I find this idea horrifying. Cruise ships do not benefit towns – see what has happened in Venice and Barcelona. They bring in a massive footprint of people who do not spend money in the town as all their needs are provided on the ships themselves.
