Reinstate Bus services to Manchester (via Cheadle village and East Didsbury) from the Heald Green/ Handforth border along the old A34 Wilmslow Road. The bus service that served this corridor was withdrawn leaving no direct route to Manchester or East Didsbury (for tram connections). Bus services to residents in this part of Heald Green are now reduced to an hourly service on route 312 that runs Stockport to Handforth Dean and which misses out a long section of Wilmslow Rd. No other form of public transport is available in what seems to be a forgotten part of the Cheadle constituency for this and other issues. Have contacted TfGM about the bus service but they don’t seem interested. A planning application for 325 new homes on what’s left of the Wilmslow Road green belt, bringing with it a potential 500-600 cars (1000-1200 daily journeys) into an area not now served by any form of public transport hardly conforms to the vision of “green” travelling promoted by Government.
