As an ex Com Care Manager, I am very aware that looking at the given timescales for work to commence in Boscombe should the bid be successful would not see changes taking place for many years.. Boscombe needs change now, to enable a regeneration Boscombe needs a clean slate to encourage business, and residents to want to move and live here.. Currently the underlying problems of Drugs and anti social behaviour are just getting worse, and impacting on the day to day living of the residents and business currently residing in the area. The proposals site employment and education as one of the areas to be addressed, I for one would question why this cannot be started now ? if it is a recognised unmet need – Bournemouth has adequate resources including employment services, job centres, training and BPC, The University and a range of Social support services that could start to tackle those underlying issues from a central hub/ com cen (could be any empty premises)
