Rochdale canal is regularly covered with large amount of litter in the water and on the tow path near to Morrison’s and the adjacent retail park nearby. Antisocial behaviour is common too. A litter management scheme/fines bins and signage is definitely needed.
As a separate issue there is a large amount of dangerous driving, drifting, speeding, illegal overtaking and racing around the Kingsway roundabouts and Sir Isaac Newton way. This causes disturbances and stress to the nearby estate.
Work is also required with JD warehouse staff who produce a large amount of litter on pathways around their place of work.
More attention needs to be paid to looking after nature and integrating this with social life and bring communities together.
Make Rochdale a place to be proud of and improve its reputation.
