The imaginative new idea to re-locate the famous Winter Gardens building onto the vacant North Quay site should be pursued vigorously. It would provide green open space which the town lacks. It would open to everybody the most stunning views in the town. It would provide great opportunities for education, nature studies, energy conservation, enjoyment, work and beauty. On top of that it would become an iconic landmark visible from afar representing the re-birth of a town which has got left behind. It would raise spirits, attract visitors and have the potential to encourage generous new investment by the private sector in the nearby Town Centre. Failure to see this never to be repeated opportunity would be remembered for years to come. The building and its surrounding nature park would become the beacon of belief in the future which Yarmouth so desperately needs. Please don’t waste this new money on repeating the mistakes of the past. Be thoughtful, imaginative and brave.
