Telford is desperately short of any cultural and heritage sites (apart from the Ironbridge museum). There are no art galleries, no proper theatre, no museums celebrating its mining, brewing, railway history, canals and agricultural history – the town is depressing lacking in culture! This key funding should be used to fund some new museums and galleries to bring some culture to the town and they should be placed in the north of the borough probably in Wellington to balance out the Ironbridge effect and boost the visitor economy around the area. This should be led by the community history and heritage groups and NOT the council.
