Abiliity to use the seperate funding announced by Dept Transport on 9 May 2020 rather than a large allocation of Town Deal Funding coupled with a review of usage of existing dedicated cycle lanes should underpin any new proposals. New schemes could connect /radiate from Abbey Road, along Salthouse Roose Roads Greengate Street, Bridgegate Strand to Marina Village. The suggested cost for the development of cycle lanes in region of £5-10m reported in the 17 April Town Deal Board papers needs to be reviewed for value for money and the prime objectives for Barrow building the skills base, educational attainment attracting skills, supporting growth of businesses, jobs, increased GVA.
