The 1970s built Four Seasons Shopping Centre and it’s associated multi storey car parks are an eyesore and an act of absolute concrete brutalism which destroyed most of the towns historic buildings in its path. Depending on the amount of funding available, the money could be used to deliver an attractive redevelopment project which respects the character of the town centre’s Conservation Areas, such as seen at Chesterfields High Street. An attractive town centre would encourage people to go into town again.
