Build a network of tram lines to connect the suburbs, housing estates and satellite villages to the city center with frequent and affordable public transport.
A starting point could be a line from North Hykeham and along Tritton Road, connecting the city center to the new growth corridor area, various shopping and recreational areas along that section of the city, schools, North Hykeham Station and right out to the business park at the edge of the city. With a terminus near the “Transport Hub” such a network would also plug straight into the regional and national transport network too.
Further links could give easier access moving between the up and down hill areas, other retail and recreation areas, and all major housing areas both in the city and with links out to nearby villages.
A comprehensive network could dramatically reduce traffic in the city by given a simple to access and understand and affordable public transport option.
