Digital Connectibivty

I think there should be further investment into making sure Scarborough and the surrounding areas have access to high-speed fibre internet speeds. I believe this is possible in the town centre but not further out. I know of a friend who can’t upgrade his connection and he isn’t able to offer some digital business services (like video editing), since there isn’t the data bandwidth for transferring large files.

  1. This is a very good point. I think I may be the person who could make more money if I could had broadband. I run a small project studio, which could make a lot more money if I can fibre broadband. Copper broadband is so limiting to my income, and building new estates like the Middle Deepdale estate without access to high speed broadband is a backwards way of developing estates, especially when surrounding areas have fibre, but new houses don’t.

    1. Did you know that there are WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) companies like Save9 – providing Superfast and Ultrafast broadband in and around Scarborough – offering speeds from 30Mbps to 100Mbps? Also – beneficiaries of high-speed connectivity are Government funded if they are based in rural locations (homes or businesses) – so they recieve a cost-free installation.
