Eradicate Pedestrianisation

Re-open the City Centre to vehicular traffic and provide on street car parking. Abandon schemes to further pedestrianise. Use the principle of congestion charging (modest) for access to the City Centre and use the proceeds to subsidise public transport from the City’s traditional catchment area.

  1. I like pedestrianisation. I want more, not less. But I like the idea of a congestion charge with the generated revenue going to public transport.

    1. Completely disagree, I would like to see pedestrianised areas dramatically increased. This would create quieter, cleaner and more human soaces, potentially incorporating lanes for cycling (Which our city is woefully lacking given our proud cycling heritage) I do like the idea of a congestion charge for the very inner city area however.
