We have a huge junior football club in Goole with very few playable pitches and even fewer places to train. Our club is called Goole Town Tigers JFC and have kids from 5-16 with 19 teams. During winter our only options are training in sports halls or paying ridiculous fees to play on The Victoria pleasure grounds under lights. This season has seen countless games be called of due to the places we have being unplayable. The club is 20 years old this year and a town of this size warrants an artificial floodlit facility that can accommodate this club and maybe surrounding smaller towns who also need this facility. The town also has 3/4 adult teams that can’t train anywhere and also get games called off regularly. This sort of facility would make money for the council also to fund other projects and help ease any financial problems that I’m sure all councils have year on year. I look forward to hopefully seeing this venture put into place and help this football community flourish!!
