Leyland has an amazing history with Leyland Motors, lots of photos and memorabilia around the town showing the history, including an old tank on a gateway round about. However, like many towns it has been left to decline. I would like trees on the High Street, new consistent paving which is navigable for a cross section of society, parking to allow easy access into town and a focal point perhaps next to the church where people can gather and create a place for community. Leyland has a lot of different communities but no focal points for events, festivals or celebrations.
In addition, there are a huge amount of young people growing up in Leyland and they need somewhere to go and something to do. It would be fantastic for them if Leyland was not considered grotty, but rather the place to be.
