1. Young people who succeed in education cannot wait to leave.
2. Young people who don’t succeed stuck in dead-end jobs, gig jobs, or no job at all.
3. Foster pride and invest in town’s heritage. Using canals, glass museum altogether we could have a heritage industry to compete with Blists Hill or Beamish. Providing jobs, pride and further investment.
History has become a growth industry.
Let’s build on ours.
And it shameful that a town of this size has no central library. How could we pretend to be a cultural hub with no library.
4. Better transport links and free transport for young people. If it’s possible in Manchester and London it’s possible here.
