Above all else, we need funding to help the massive amount of homeless people living in and around St Helens. Suggesting funding for shops and other things to enrich people’s lives is no use – there is no point in giving some of us luxury and doing nothing about those of us living in horrible standards. My suggestion is more funding to enable homeless people to live comfortably – whether this goes to existing organisations like the Hope Center or is instead used to convert one of many empty town center buildings into somewhere welcoming for these people is up to you. Essentially, I think this money would best be used to help the St Helens community at its lowest point; there is no point building extravagant structures until the broken foundations are fixed.
