I work in the George Eliot hospital and this is how I feel. Over the time people living in Nuneaton Have increased however the GEH has remained the same. therefore waiting area in A&E is longer and will be even longer when it is decided you need a ward bed. It’s is Unpleasant experience for patients to be waiting around in A&E corridors. Also gives more pressure for bed Managers to find more beds which has knock on effect of nurses working on the wards. Due to high number of casualties coming in to A&E and needing a hospital bed, it results in frequent bed transfers between wards whether it’s day or late at night. Some staffs have Left and some are planning to leave GEH due to this very pressure, which may make the matter worse. I feel that Extra beds in GEH can really help public and staffs working there.
