Improve sports facilities

Only 2 flat grass playing surfaces in the town centre for football and rugby. Turn to mud or unplayable over winter. Need a 4g surface on one

  1. Traffic Tragic when you go ahead with industrial estate and large private house building the present caous will end and we shall total shutdown.People who plan should spend time to view the situation.

  2. Smaller shop footage or pop up shop for independent arts and craft people to be able to sell their products. A community shop or shops. Lower the charges people have to pay to rent shops Open up a courses centre – offering reduced prices or free courses in GCSE or A level – improve job prospects. Have a local meet and greet where vunerable, lonely, elderly, people new to the area can meet up and have a chat. Maybe a small community savings/ bank system.Bring our community back. A market Square seems a great idea too selling local fresh produce, handmade items, hand baked etc. Locally grown , locally sourced, locally made, recycled, reused events. Think carbon neutral/footprint. Promote all things local

  3. Wellington arcade in the town centre- if you can’t knock it down then at least clad it. Regeneration around the outdoor market and canal side. The roads are pot holed to death too.

  4. Regrettably, as someone who first started playing Rugby in 1962, and went on to Coaching both Aged Rugby and Open Age Rugby, I must disagree with this comment. 4G pitches do not add to any skill sets that First Class/International Players require. This is something best left to the Top League Clubs that can truly afford to have artificial pitches and use them properly as an overall parts of a winning strategy.
