Improve the tourism infrastructure

The Telford and Wrekin area does NOT promote tourism well – very few facilities for tourism outside Ironbridge and the area needs a ‘Wrekin Visitors centre’ and some tourist information facilities in the north of Telford ie: the Wellington area at the railway station or in the town centre. it also needs to develop some tourist attractions museums/galleries related to its mining, brewing and canal heritage.

  1. This is a good point. Tourism could revive parts of Telford, if the infrastructure is improved – transport links presently are poor, tourism information needs improving and new attractions based on the Wrekin, mining, brewing and agriculture should be developed (outside of the Ironbridge area to spread the economic benefits of tourism around).
