Integrated and subsidised public transport

If traffic is to be reduced in the city, viable alternatives to the car must be provided. Not everyone can cycle especially in winter, so frequent, reliable and affordable public transport is also essential. Please invest significant funds in developing and subsidising these networks so that they work for both city dwellers and commuters.

  1. The City must have a fully integrated transport strategy if congestion and air pollution is to be tackled. The focus shouldn’t purely be on car to public transport either. There’s plenty of national and worldwide examples of integrating cycle use with car, bus and train use.
