Invest in the library service

Libraries are being asked to respond to the community’s greater needs. Library assistants on top of their core responsibilities also act as social workers, job seeker support, mental health workers, educators and community developers, looking after the elderly, children, new parents, isolated individuals, communities at risk. The social value of libraries increases every years, and yet their funding is at risk. There is no need to reinvent the wheel: fund libraries. Let them prosper, and the whole community will benefit.
