I wonder if the local town would like to invest some funds into it’s local hockey club up at St Georges. The hockey club, has existed since 1895, has about 400 members, and a huge youth section and culture, ranging from U8 age group, through U10, U12, U14, U18 for boys and girls and a senior section, male and female. The club currently has to raise £220k to replace it’s aging astro pitch which has been there for 17 years. Without a new pitch, the hockey club will not survive and will have to be relocated or even cease, which would be a tragedy for all the young members of the club – currently 250 juniors. The club have a number of strategic approaches on going with sporting associations, but it would be a huge boost if the gov’t/town could see itself to make a contribution towards our cause no matter how big/small.The sport club is al; inclusive, providing a mixed sport, social interaction, training, coaching and helps provide afocus for so many young people. Support would be so good.
