Levelling up the Witham

One of Boston’s USPs is the river Witham that runs through the town. If the river could be made freshwater from the Port to the Sluice Bridge this would create a unique opportunity to make a feature of the river, this would be attractive to tourists, more attractive for residents and residential riverside developments. Rather than creating an ugly division between West Street and the Market Place.

  1. This idea is fine, but only works in terms of Navigation to and from the tidal haven to and from the fresh water Witham above Grand Sluice if a lock is put in alongside the barrier
