I would like to see the £25 million investment tackle the housing crisis to help local people be able to live in the parish of St Ives. Empty properties to be used to benefit the community may it be a library of things, housing, etc, (such as the building underneath the bus station (Malakoff) to be turned into a community hub.
Better infrastructure, fibre internet to premises, better transport links and for it to be affordable for people working on a minimum wage like the majority of people working in Tourism!
All the shops in the town centre are now chains that are high-end clothing or a restaurant, not one is affordable and focusses on what local people may actually need. Have to travel at least 7 miles to do so, or buy online which doesn’t help local businesses!
