More unique and inclusive destinations

Places like vegan junk food shops have become a destination, in Wolverhampton we have no where like this (closest thing is Rebels at Chapel Ash), which means that we have to travel to get food! Wolverhampton being taken over by chains is killing the town centre. We could make more out of our history and bring back engineering, and unique shops like Snapes that have sadly been lost. We need to move towards the future.

  1. The trouble with being an independant business is the sheer cost of being in the city centre and lack of footfall in certain areas.
Having run a business in the city centre for 10 years there were days were the passing trade was so bad and with the tightening up of city cenre parking it just became a cash cow and all the money we had just went on extorniate city centre rents and high business rates and unlike big chains the buck stops with the owner.
You get to a point where you feel totaly at a loss on the way forward and end up just moving out.
