Ness Point is the most easterly point of the UK. As such it should be a tourist hotspot, The Lizard and Lands End in Cornwall, John O’Groats and Ardnamurchan Point in Scotland are all tourist hotspots with hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, the tourists money sustains the local economies. Visitors to Ness Point generally comment, “is that it” as there is pretty much nothing there.
I have designed a two storey building to sit where the current gas storage tank is (currently under demolition) and the vacant land due east of it. The property would house a large ‘Grits Beach Village Experience’ could house the Jack Rose Collection, and retail units on the ground floor, upstairs would be a large dining area with bar, a cafe during the day, restaurant in the evening, with glass walling north, east and west allowing a 180° vista. A wrap around balcony allows outside eating, a stage would allow music evenings to rival Snape but with huge panoramic views out to sea.
