Redditch town centre needs to be more in line of merry hills shopping centre and do we really need car parking every where.use this space for better routes and have one big parking facility.also make it free parking up to 2 hours then a charge all if you spend 20 pound free parking go to customer desk. All win wins for you to think about .

  1. Invest in youth clubs for the younger members of Redditch. Prevent youth going into gang & drug culture. Pramote a work for it culture.

  2. Ken Williams (the Kingfisher Shopping Centre’s Manager) could easily reduce the amount of parking on residential streets surrounding the Town Centre.
Here are just four things: FREE parking for ALL people working in the shopping centre. Significantly lower charges. Wider parking bays. More CCTV and more security patrols within the car parks.

  3. Redditch Town centre is becoming a ghost town. I would rather go to retail parks where there are large well known stores and I’m not rushed because I don’t have to worry about car parking fees.

  4. We have more than adequate amount of parking within the town centre. A large majority of it all undercover. We have excellent transport links enabling us to access it, admittedly our bus service is extremely poor and holds monopoly. The way Redditch has already been planned and built with the existing parking areas we currently have, it would be extremely difficult to create a Merry Hill style of parking.

Not only that, the placement of the current car parks makes it easier for people to access those certain areas needed without having to hike across town to reach the services, shops required etc. I think there are many benefits for disabled users having plenty of spaces, the shop mobility and being undercover from the elements.

Car park charges compared to surrounding towns are very reasonable. I don’t think Redditch currently has the space or suitability to cater for a Merry Hill style car park.
