Only do ‘improvements’ that the people actually want

In Norwich, we have recently seen roads being closed to some traffic, while lots of these ‘fashionable’ cycle lanes are put in all over the place. Well no-one seems to have consulted the cyclists, as most of them remain seemingly unused! People need roads and access to them, in order to get into the city, where they can then spend their money in all the businesses, which helps the city to thrive. Why can we not have a public group working with the city council, who both submit plans and ideas on improvements to the city, which are then voted on by the whole population of Norwich, thereby reducing ‘silly’ ideas which nobody wants, but are just suggested by the latest ‘whizz-kid’ in the council?
