Open Halton Castle

Halton Castle is presently closed to visitors except on perhaps one day per year. It should be opened up to visitors and enquiries made with the Duchy of Lancaster whether the present public house and former Georgian courthouse could be converted into a visitor centre and museum. The ruins could also be lit at night.

  1. We have one of the oldest remaining castles in the country in Halton, Cheshire which is of archeological interest. Although set up on a hill, It is presently hidden by trees and looks sadly neglected. I heartily agree with this request for this monument to be made safe, preserved and recognised as an important monument if Cheshire’s heritage.
