Reopen Southport to Preston Rail link routing from Kew to Crossens, Banks, Hesketh Bank, Hoole, Tarleton to Penwortham. The Burscough Curves route only benefits Southport, the other areas are already served by the rail link, in fact opening the curves route may jeopardise the future of the existing Preston / Ormskirk link. Banks, Hesketh Bank, Hoole, Tarleton are currently poorly served by public transport having no train Services and infrequent bus services, all are expanding areas that have seen or seeing considerable housing development.
Rail traffic could be substantial and could reduce road traffic to meet green agendas and help reduce the road bottle necks at Penwortham and around Taleton and Douglas Bridge.
More expensive but I believe a better argument for the investment.
