Yes the Mander Centre has just been refurbished and a brand new department store built, but to be honest neither centre is fit for purpose, both should be rebuild as one large shopping centre with larger stores higher ceilings a more spacious and consistent shopping experience, with better restaurants and stores and all round experience. Create more open spaces, there are plenty of buildings that have been empty for a while knock them down, and make it into an area that events can take place. The buildings between Victoria Street and Cleveland Passage are a prime example, a few have already been demolished but the rest just look a mess, encourage those businesses to relocate, knock them down on the car park behind build a new large Primark with access directly into the Wulfrun centre, this will have better connectivity between the shopping centres and Westside, there is also no entrance to the former Debenhams from that side of the city, and there should be!! There’s lots more!
