Stevenage town centre has so much space and many retail units that are not put to use. It is not optimised and it is not attractive – the brutalist architecture does not do the opportunity justice. But it’s a diamond in the rough that is waiting to be cleaned.
Put money into redesigning and redeveloping the new town centre. Change the buildings so they don’t look like the 50s era relics that they are. It will lift the town and improve footfall. Many years ago footfall was great but it has been declining. Revamping the aesthetic of the town will be one way to address that.
