Wellington is a historic market town and it has been badly neglected for over fifty years and is presently in a real mess with no facilities (museum/art gallery/visitors centre etc), lots of empty shops and a lot of anti-social behaviour. A significant amount of this £25 million funding should go to the town to buy empty properties to create art studios, start-up units and to develop a Wellington Visitors centre (based on its history and the Wrekin Hill). This would create jobs and opportunities, revitalise the town centre and bring desperately needed footfall. This money should NOT be spent on ‘Telford Shopping Centre/Sation Quarter’ or more housing and over-development!
