Regeneration of industry

Money to be spent providing training/education to help build a well skilled workforce to help employers grow and expand. Without better paid jobs in the town, it will die from lack of interest. Already Mark’s and Spencer has voted with its feet. If the business is not there, they will leave. Do something to help people get pride in their surroundings. Keeping things nice and tidy should be the norm and done by the population of the town. Something that encourages people to do this will make the town so much more pleasant for people living here. Finally, provision of clubs/societies and sports facilities for young and old. Make them accessible and affordable. Encourage and train people to start up voluntary societies. Provide spaces in schools on an evening for people to use freely. Reclaim the town for the average person

  1. To have better paid jobs you need to have successful companies in the town who can afford to pay higher salaries. Before we can attract these types of companies we need to ensure that the infrastructure is in place in order to attract them in the first place. For example. No business is going to relocate to an area which has poor Internet connectivity so that needs to be addressed.
