Regeneration of Wellington Town centre

The market town of Wellington has been badly neglected for over 30 years and urgently needs new facilities and new investment. There is potential for a modern transport hub with the rail and bus stations next to each other. but it lacks any sort of disabled friendly link, there is no real time information for the buses or any green electric buses.

  1. This is a good idea and a proper modern transport hub would be an excellent start. Wellington definitely needs some major investment as it presently is a mess!

  2. Agree, modern transport hub with disabled access between platforms and toilet provision would be a big enhancement for this historic market town which has a great future as well as a great past.

  3. Wellington certainly needs big projects and a lot of investment and the town centre is a miserable place at the moment. A proper modern transport hub would a good start.

  4. At Wellington station, a multi storey carpark is needed as well as disabled access between platforms and new toilet facilities

  5. Completely agree – Wellington needs lots of investment and the bus station is like something from the 1960s with no up to date timetables or fare information or any real time bus departure information. There is no level surface link between the bus and rail stations which makes public transport very difficult for disabled people – In 2020 this is totally unacceptable.
