A new quarter of the town centre dedicated to the restaurant sector.
Bolton has an award winning Food and Drink Festival in it’s town centre, one of the UK’s premier events of it’s kind. As with many town centres, Bolton’s is in need of regeneration. The town’s former magistrates courts building is about to be converted into a high end hotel; together with other regeneration initiatives this can be a catalyst to a new era for the town centre, with leisure and residential developments breathing new life into Bolton. The new hotel will be located on the elegant Le Mans Crescent – an impressive area of neoclassical buildings often used as a film location. Many retail premises in the vicinity are now standing vacant, however two new restaurants have opened in recent times. With new investment, the area could become a ‘restaurant quarter’ with establishments complementing the hotel and other developments in a new evening economy which builds on the town’s reputation as a foodies’ haven.
