Restoration of victorian features

Some funding should go towards restoration or reinstatement of heritage features such as victorian architectural details and shopfronts. Too many shops have been converted to houses or stripped of original features in favour of bland design. Using archive photos funding could be used for restoration, especially around the town centre. This would go further than the current efforts to repaint buildings.

More heritage should be preserved before it is lost. Restoration of the square / town centre should be considered using local materials to improve the historic setting.

This would make Millom a more attractive and recognised tourism destination in the south west lakes area.
