Restore the Bandstand/park

If brought back into use the bandstand would be an amazing venue for a wide variety of events and occasions, and attracting visitors to the town.

  1. This is an historic building and asset of our town and I would love to see it restored to its former glory. It could be used for such a variety of performances especially brass bands which I remember playing there when we first moved here some years ago.

  2. This Grade ll listed building is the only surviving example of a rare type of theatre-style bandstand. Historic England have described it as being of ‘historical significance’. Restored, it could once again become the valuable community asset it was for over a century as well as having a strong tourist appeal. It could attract visitors to the town and help stimulate the local economy. The bandstand is an important part of the town’s character, its individuality, and an irreplacable asset in our lived environmnent.

  3. Absolutely this must be restored to its former glory. Its asset of Todmorden, and will make a fantastic venue for live open air entertainment.

  4. The bandstand is a unique and historic focal point for the town which if restored and managed well by the community led group could regenerate business for neighbouring facilities and amenities such as the park and market.
It would be a marketable asset and could easily self sustain once retired with events and a marriage licence for instance.
