Rethink school transport

Using schools parent run minibus scheme to transport to and from school. Ours has to run on break even basis, admin done by school including dbs., midas driver training, regular dvla checks on all drivers and managing passenger lists, bookings etc. This gives parents extra time and can save money but not if multiple children. Council subsidies and centralised driver training could enable other schools to also make better use of their minibuses which of course are still available for daytime use at scool. We have robust maintenace sytem in place, smaller schools may need help with that also centrally. Can make huge difference totraffic congestion at very low costs. I have helped construct work on this but willingness to take forward not apparent. In worcs there is a council employed minibus trainer for schools. Assisted self help for school communities.
