It would be fantastic for the sewing academy in Oldham college to receive this funding so it could potentially expand (branch off) and develop into an employer too with its own factory similar to that of “fashion enter”. This would attract business and reason for living in here given that most of the fast fashion brands are based in Manchester it would be perfect. Boohoo, misguided, pretty little thing, in the style. Etc plus you have Fanatics International (my old place of work where I was a buyer and product developer) Especially to be on par with Leicester where most of the garments are made. These brands would love to keep the business in more local factory’s and enable quick turn sampling with a drive less than 30 minutes away. Given Oldhams history – once with an incredible 30% of the town’s population employed in the sector. Demographic stats would 100% back this and support this need and suitability.
