Need to bring in more High Street names, (e.g. Next, Ask Italian etc.), to make the place more attractive. The local landlords need some sort of persuasion, (lower Business rates?), to improve the properties above the shops, they are a disgrace, make the place look as if no one cares.
The Sea Front needs decent cafes, bars and restaurants, not just fish and chips, where families can go and have decent meal.
Sorry to say, you have to get rid of the monstrosity that is the vertical pier. I was all for it in the beginning but it now is just an eyesore. Who want to look at the pile of rust that is the former British Steel site and views of the back streets of Redcar.
The part of the seafront already completed, the fountains and seating are a good start, don’t let it down.
Finally do waste the money on expensive consultants who will make a fortune saying what everybody in the area already knows.
