Significant improvements to public transport infrastructure in Peterborough

Peterborough is in dire need of investment for public transport services, this is an issue that is often flagged up and is evident for Peterborough being labeled as the most car dependent city in the UK by the ‘Campaign for Better Transport’s – 2014 car dependency report’. Poor access to transport can leave people feeling isolated, taking over an hour to travel from North Peterborough to South in a city that’s around 14 miles in diameter. The bus service is atrocious and too costly for the service; The cycle paths, e.g. ‘The green wheel’, are dilapidated with large areas of undulating surfaces – unsafe to cycle or promote cycling. The local population is on the rise, though the city’s transport infrastructure is unable to cope.
