Worcester has seen the building of new industrial, trade counter and workshop units in recent years with developments off Tolladine Road and WorcesterSix off Jct 6 of the M5 as examples.
It would be beneficial to many smaller traders and businesses (SME’s) to have developments like this incorporate smaller units that are more affordable in both terms of rent and business rates.
Smaller traders are often overlooked in favour of large logistics, warehousing and retail companies who bring in massive business rates – however it is evident that many units remain empty for long periods (often spanning several years) when we are always being told that SME business is the backbone to our economy yet many entrepreneurs and small businesses have no location of premises to set up and offer their trade effectively.
