Don’t just spend the money on the town centre, spread it across the more residential areas in Rotherham where people are actually going to notice the difference and benefit from it. For instance, you could identify problematic roads in these areas and spend the money re-laying them and fixing the potholes. Not only would this benefit local citizens, but also the local council, as many pothole-related incidents are charged to the council rather than being paid by the drivers themselves. If the council didn’t have to spend money compensating such minor/petty incidents, then they would have more money to then be able to start improving the town centre etc.
