Northampton is no longer a ‘go to destination’. There are too many empty shops because small businesses can’t afford the business rates/taxes and now being replaced by ‘student accommodation’. There’s no incentive to visit as parking costs are soaring and there are homeless people EVERYWHERE. The council spends our money irresponsibly (lets not mention the £10,000,000 loan that was never paid back and costing US the tax payers thousands of pounds to investigate).
The Nene over-flowing is now a regular occurrence because THOUSANDS of houses are being built preventing natural drainage and the promised ‘infrastructure’ such as supporting schools and shops never seem to materialise. Traffic is a NIGHTMARE as roads are severely congested due to poor planning.
In short you might as well light a fuse and start again….
